Endicott Interconnect Technologies, Inc. (EI) announced today that its facility in Saxonburg, PA is now the site of the Company’s new Detection & Imaging Systems division. This division will focus on applications that provide the highest quality, most accurate detection and imaging solutions for the medical and security industries.
The Saxonburg facility designs, develops and manufactures leading edge solid-state room temperature X-ray and Gamma-ray detectors based on its proprietary Cadmium Zinc Telluride (CZT) detection materials, advanced electronics and packaging solutions. “Operating as EI Detection & Imaging Systems, our Saxonburg facility will leverage Endicott Interconnect Technologies’ advanced microelectronics, packaging and complex system assembly competencies to enable existing and future customers with integrated detection and imaging system solutions,” said Rick Smith, Director of Sales and Operations for EI Detection & Imaging Systems.
In June 2009, EI purchased the assets of eV PRODUCTS, Inc. in Saxonburg, PA and renamed the company eV Microelectronics, a division of Endicott Interconnect Technologies, Inc. This transition to Detection & Imaging Systems fully incorporates the Saxonburg site as a vertically integrated medical and security solutions provider within EI and better positions the business for future growth.
All research and development, sales and manufacturing operations, as well as intellectual property included in eV Microelectronics will become part of the Detection & Imaging Systems division.
