A Little More Info On The DoD Trusted Supplier Program
In 2004, the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics (USD AT&L) initiated policy that requires all Mission Assurance Category I systems to “Employ only trusted foundry service(s) to fabricate their custom designed ICs”
Trusted Supplier status is awarded to those U.S. companies designing, generating, manufacturing and distributing components that are highly critical to our national security.
For packaging and assembly services, i3’s vertical integration strategy suits this DOD need perfectly. i3 is one of five suppliers domestically offering this capability.
